Spicy

What can I say? Wow! If I knew that homemade sweet chilli sauce was this easy (and tasty) I definitely would have made this sooner. Last week we went to the Vic’ markets and bought a big ol’ bag of chillies. Luckily we had everything else in the cupboard, but to be honest there really isn’t much to it. We started to chop, measure and blitz the ingredients together without thinking about the 37ºC heat outside. We cranked the oven up to sterilize the jars and turned the hotplates on

Ghoulish Goulash

Warm up with a Ghoulish Goulash soup all the way from Hungary this Halloween!! This time four years ago we went to Budapest in beautiful Hungary for my birthday (yep, it was my birthday yesterday…. toot toot!!) My knowledge of the country and its traditions were slim to none so it was all very educational, but the one thing I learnt pretty quickly was how rad their food was. We ate our first meal at this medieval style restaurant and had one the most memorable meals ever (currently listed #2

Well what else are you supposed to bake on Grand Final Day, or GFD as it has now been nicknamed? Sausage rolls are an essential part of any Australian kids birthday party or GFD (see it’s catchy) so having a tasty recipe is a pretty important. These small little parcels of goodness were popular at the GFD party we went to on Saturday and it was the perfect opportunity to try this recipe. They were served with a nice chutney Seb’s dad made us and they were all gobbled up

As I mentioned last week, Harissa is a great accompaniment with Moroccan cooking, so I thought I’d follow it up with something you could serve it with. These little goodies are called Briouats and are kind of like a Moroccan spring roll. As with any Moroccan cooking it’s packed with all sorts of different spices and this recipe requires a Ras el Hanout mix. This spice mix is a Moroccan blend of spices which I couldn’t get my hands so I made up my own version with what I had

These American style sticky pork ribs are a-m-a-z-i-n-g and stupidly easy. I found a few different recipes online and made my own version so I was a little unsure about how it would turn out but I highly recommend making them this weekend – do it! American Style Pork Sticky Ribs and Spicy Chips 1/2 cup tomato sauce 1/4 cup golden syrup 2 tbsp soy 2 tbsp malt vinegar 1 tsp brown sugar 1/4 cup barbecue sauce 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce 1. Combine all ingredients into a large bowl. Add

Spicy Pumpkin Soup

At the moment I’m spending a lot of time at the studio here in Carlton and taking yummy packed lunches. I used to love the Covent Garden soups they have in the UK and in winter, 9 lunches out of 10 I’d be trying another different flavour. Anyway, I still haven’t moved on and I still love soup for lunch and I haven’t had it in ages so I’m craving it. My favourite of all favourite soups would have to be pumpkin soup. It’s so sweet with the browned onions
