As we’re moving into the last few weeks of winter (thank goodness) everyone around me seems to be getting sick, and last week I was no exception. Oh my, I was completely out of it. Bed ridden and full of chicken soup. My apologies for not posting last week, I was absolutely knocked for six. This week I decided to make some empanadas. Saturday was a very busy day for me. I was lucky enough to be invited to go cook, photograph and eat Afghan food. Never eaten Afghan food? Me neither but I can tell you it’s delicious. A friend has started a cultural event which uses food to help bring different communities together. Their inaugural event is  starting with Melbourne’s Afghan community and trying to show people the wonderful aspects of this country. I have had the BEST weekend – ever!  On Friday I drove up to the beautiful snow capped Mt Hotham (5.5hrs drive out of Melbourne) where I learnt to ski for the very first time. Why hasn’t anybody ever told me how much fun this is?? It was a big group trip, organised by one of our friends.
